Queer in Lancaster is a Community Interest Company (CIC), founded in December 2024.
Our mission
Our aim is to support and connect the queer community in and around Lancaster. We do this by working in collaboration with, and never competing against, the many local queer groups and non-profits in the area.
What do we mean by 'connect the community'?
Lancaster has a very large queer community, but it can often be hard to find. Queer in Lancaster aims to bring visibility to the many queer groups, events, non-profits and businesses in the area, so that any queer person in Lancaster can find them easily.
lancaster.gay
The main way we do this is through lancaster.gay, an online trans-inclusive directory of all things queer in Lancaster. This is a free website that anyone can visit, which will list all the events, social and support groups, non-profits, and businesses in Lancaster.
Discord
We now run a Discord Community Server, called Queer in Lancaster. This is a safe, online space where people can chat with other queer folks. There are dedicated spaces for Queer By Gum and Queer Boots, as well as a general chat, unrelated to them.

Community Newsletter
Every month (as long as we have the resources to), we create a community newsletter! These newsletters are free, and cover a community spotlight, any local news, and updates from Queer in Lancaster and other queer organisations.
